A Unique Piece of History

A Day In The Valley - The country home store be with pottery, flags, quilts and other unique items to bring home a piece of the Valley.

Maggie Mountaineer Crafts was started in 1950 , a small country shop with mostly local craftsmen contributing to make it unique. Many Cherokee woman would walk over from the reservation to bring baskets, corn husk dolls, blankets, moccasins, bead work, arrowheads and many more local handmade items.

We were one of the first craft shops in the Great Smoky Mountains.

The current shop still has a lot of the original wood and foundation that it has always had. New owners Sue and Austin Pendley bought the business in 1975 from the original owners Kim and Evelyn Parham. It has been expanded many times during the 71 years it has been in business.

Many families have visited over the years and many generations have come to love this beautiful area. With all the changes in Maggie Valley we still love to tell everyone about so many things to do when they visit our Valley. Sue and her son Brad currently operate the business with a great staff.
